best simpson pressure washers

We review the best of Simpson’s pressure washer line

I get it, you’re looking at Simpson pressure washer reviews and are trying to figure out which pressure washer will fit your needs.

Buying a pressure washer can be seriously overwhelming. There are dozens of brands to choose from, and each brand you look at might have a dozen different models. There are heavy-duty washers, medium-duty, and light-duty varieties. You might read a review on the best pressure washers that tells you a heavy duty washer is best for scouring your driveway, while medium duty is best for sprucing up your siding, and light duty is best for cleaning your dog… So what do you choose?

Well, the first step is to pick a reputable brand that you can trust, so you know whatever model you buy will be a solid investment. If you’re not choosing a trustworthy brand, you might as well be throwing your money in the trash for something that might not work in a few years. If you want a reliable pressure washer that will hold up for years to come, picking the right brand is pretty damn important.

Is Simpson a trusted pressure washer brand?

Simpson is a trusted brand that has proved the reliability of their machines in the 50+ years since they turned out their first pressure washer model in the 1960s, and Simpson has a bunch of pressure washer accessories. We’ll look at a variety of Simpson washers here to help you pick the best one to suit your needs.

Here are the two most important things to consider when comparing Simpson’s different pressure washers.

How much does a pressure washer cost?

How much are you willing to spend? If you want the very best on the market and money is no issue, paying attention to the price tag isn’t important; but if you’re on a tight budget, this might be one of the first things you look at. Which model suits both your practical needs and your financial ones?

What type of pressure washer is suitability for your job?

What will you be using your washer for? If you don’t have a specific job in mind but plan on using your washer for a variety of tasks, you’re going to want a pretty versatile model. If you’re only doing major cleaning, you might need a serious heavy-duty machine. Which model will best suit your needs? How much power do you need?

Detailed Simpson Pressure Washer Reviews

We break down Simpson's product line and give an overview for the 5 best

Simpson 3100 PSI Pressure Washer (MSH3125-S) – Best Simpson Pressure Washer

Quick Specs:
  • 3100 PSI
  • 2.5 GPM
The Rundown: This is the best Simpson pressure washer for all around use. If you’re looking for a really high quality machine without completely breaking the bank, this is a great option. It is a pretty affordable model while being good for a wide range of projects. At 3,100 PSI this Simpson gas pressure washer is a super powerful heavy-duty washer, and with its Honda GC190 engine you know that power will last. That’s one of the great things about Simpson… whatever model you buy, you know you can trust it to last. They’re pretty reliable machines.

Simpson (MS60763-S) – The Cheaper Alternative

Quick Specs:
  • 3000 PSI
  • 2.4 GPM
The Rundown: For $65 less, you get almost as much PSI and GPM as the previous model. This version isn’t as quite powerful, but it’s a close second. If you’re looking for something a little more affordable that still has that heavy-duty cleaning power, this washer might be perfect for you. It is also a little bit smaller, making it a little more convenient for storing. If you’re not an intense pressure-washer buff, or doing a lot of industrial-strength jobs, you probably won’t be able to tell a difference in power. This pressure washer from Simpson is great if you’re looking for reliable strength without needing the very best on the market.

Simpson (PS3228-S) – Best High Power Pressure Washer

Quick Specs:
  • 3,200 PSI
  • 2.8 GPM
The Rundown: A little less budget-friendly, this model is for the big jobs. If you’re consistently doing intense pressure washing and need a truly powerful washer, this 3,200 PSI Simpson pressure washer is the one. With a more powerful Honda engine than the MSH3125-S (196 cc), it’ll give you the heavy-duty cleaning power you need for as long as you need it. At less than $600, it’s on the higher end of Simpson’s basic models, but still not outrageous. For the extra money you’re getting higher PSI and GPM in addition to the more powerful engine. If you’ve got serious cleaning needs, this machine will make easy work of it.

Simpson (MegaShot MSV2623-S) – Cheapest Simpson Pressure Washer

Quick Specs:
  • 2,600 PSI
  • 2.3 GPM
The Rundown: From the specs alone, you can get a pretty good idea of what you’re getting with this machine. At 2,600 PSI this qualifies as medium-duty pressure washer, meaning you’re not going to be using it for huge, commercial jobs. But for smaller projects at home, this is still a great model. It’s smaller and lighter than Simpson’s other power washers, which makes it convenient for moving and storing. If you need a basic pressure washer for jobs around your house like cleaning your deck or siding, this might be perfect for you. But if you’re looking to do some more heavy-duty jobs, it’s probably worth it to spend the extra $30 on the MS60763.

Simpson MB1223 – The Hot Water Pressure Washer (The Splurge)

Quick Specs:
  • 1,200 PSI
  • 2.3 GPM
The Rundown: You probably took one look at the specs and thought “Fuck, no.” I don’t blame you… Over $2,000 for the lowest power pressure washer on this list? Why would anyone buy that? Well the thing that makes this washer different, is that it’s heated. It has a diesel fuelled heater that raises the temperature of the water by 100 degrees. If you’re cleaning dirt off your patio furniture, that makes no difference. But if you’re cleaning anything with grease and oil, hot water is key. When combined with soap, the cleaning power of the heated washer makes it far more effective than cold water pressure washers, despite having a lower PSI. If you’re cleaning engine parts or other heavily greased items regularly, the heated washer is worth the splurge in cost. If not, you’re probably better off saving a couple grand and sticking with a more traditional model.

The Simpson Pressure Washer Review Roundup

Simpson has a lot of different varieties of pressure washers to fit every budget. The one thing they don’t really have is a selection of light-duty washers; but with the affordability of their medium-duty version, it’s not really necessary. Basically, you can’t go wrong with Simpson. From the basic washing capability of the MegaShot to the extreme heat power of the MB1223, they’ve got all their bases covered. For most people, the Simpson MSH3125-S or Simpson MS60763-S will be the best choices. They offer a lot of high power for a decent price and will work well for any home cleaning you might need to do. But if you need something for bigger industrial-strength jobs, they’ve got that covered too. Now all that’s left is to pick the one you like best!
